Dawn

The foggy mists rise above the valley
the dark clouds move towards a distance unknown
The messenger moon pales out in silence
to the glory of the rising Crown

A lovely partridge beseeches its mate
A flock of geese fly yonder
An innocent child snuggles against its mother
As squirrels run about in search of food

Lo! Behold! The sun peeps out through the purple - pink curtains
a soft orange ball of wool
working its way effortlessly
turning brighter and stronger

Slowly shift the colours of the sky
The purple - pinks give way to a baby blue
The curtains have parted
till there is nothing but a bright round light

Every single day it seems
Darkness gives in to light
Night gives in to day
And cold gives in to warmth

As grief is replaced by joy
And failure by success
Belief and hope abound
A new beginning!

This is the splendour of the new dawn
This is the dawn of life!!!

Random musings

Days go by and so do years
step by step, one by one
we pass the various stages of life
on every occasion, we experience and learn
the benefits of education, hard work, patience and perseverance
The lessons learnt... the insights obtained...
From the success and failures in examinations, of studies and of life
The satisfaction from being in the right
Remembering that results do not matter, but means do
So also the efforts and and the work done towards achieving the goal
Youth stays with one for a fleeting moment
What remains is character and attitude
So here we go... striving for our best
For God always helps those
Who help themselves!

A mother's lullaby

Silently blows the wind
as a mother gently rocks her cradle.

Sings she with a soft, gentle voice
with a lot of love and warmth
"Sleep my dear baby!
The apple of my eye
You need all the rest you can get now
To grow into the person of my dreams.

"'Cos tomorrow will be another day
with its share of joys and sorrows
You will have to face them
All brave and strong
I may not be around
to remove the thorns off your path
But God knows, my spirit shall
Always hold your heart.

Success is important
But not at the cost of someone's loss

Life s tough and things not easy
It's easy to lose sight of the right
amidst all the dazzle and glitter
but with a little courage and a great deal hope
any war can be fought.

(Thoughts of an innocent and naive 18 year old...)

The moon rises in all its splendour
to bring together parted souls
Words they share, silent phrases all
clasping hands... emotions swelling up in their eyes and hearts.

Lost within each other
their whole world reduced to
just the two of them
the moon stands guard
a silent spectator.

What more can they ask for
but to stay together
for the rest of their days
to die but be parted not
for mere bodies perish
not pure loving souls...

People

People live, peolple exist
Though there is hatred
Though there is death.

There are the rich,
there are the poor.
There are the sacred
as there are the wicked.

They are noble,
They are cheap.
Some are happy
as some weep.

Some are thoughtful
some unmindful
Some are simple
Others just boastful

Of many shapes, colours and sizes
bringing a whole lot of surprises
Thinking high/ low thoughts
Performing just/unjust actions...

They go high
They go deep
But they all have "Promises to keep...
and miles to go before they sleep :)"

Life a Creation.

Life a Journey,

Life a Destination.

Life a dedicated duty,

Life a devoted prayer.

Life a lovely dream,

Life a meaningful path.

Life a poet's paradise,

Life an artist's masterpiece.

Life a sculptor's creation.

Life a monk's salvation.

Life a fantasy,

Life a reality.

Life an amalgamation of opposites,

Life of happiness and sorrow.

God...

(something that I had written about 20 years ago... It is interesting how thoughts and beliefs change... I still consider myself a theist, but my concept of God and religion has undergone a seismic shift!!!)

The Supreme being,

The omnipresent, omnipotent

The all.

Is there any single thing

that you do not know.

A single feeling

you do not feel.

A single ill

you do not cure.

When I'm under your loving care and shelter,

Is there anything to fear.

You the propounder of peace and love

Of duty and discipline

of kindness and devotion.

Is there anything that I should ask you

You always solve my problems

You always grant my wishes

Why should I fear, My life is all HOPE

I am blessed that I know you

I am blessed that you are there!
